Bob is a retired facilities engineer. He worked at Howmet Corporation, where he held various roles including designer, engineer, supervisor, and facilities manager.

Bob is currently the Mayor of Grand Haven. He was first elected as Mayor in 2019 and served until 2021. He was re-elected as Mayor in 2023. Bob previously served on the Grand Haven City Council from 2009 to 2019. Before that, he served on the Grand Haven Planning Commission from 1999 to 2008.
