Election 2023: Two men are vying to be the next mayor of South Lyon

Steve Kennedy is from South Lyon. He holds a bachelor of science degree from Wayne State University. He has volunteered for Pumpkinfest, the Lake Street Cruise-in, downtown cleanup, Concerts in the Park, Motorfest, creek cleanup, and Blues, Brews & Brats. He has organized Show Your Love for Lyon, as well as a COVID-19 vaccination event at Colonial Acres, and served on the South Lyon Fire Department Promotion Board.

Steve is a management consultant. He has also worked in maintenance and operations.

Steve is currently the mayor of South Lyon. He was elected in 2023 and is serving his first term. Before becoming mayor, he served on the South Lyon City Council from 2018 to 2023. He also served as the city’s mayor pro-tem from 2021 to 2023.
