Mary Joan Pugh has lived in Asheboro for over 40 years with her two sons. She attends the Church of Good Shepherd and volunteers as a Randolph County trail coordinator. Mary Joan has a bachelor's degree in zoology and a master's degree in regional planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
