Allen Oliver earned a bachelor of arts in recreation and parks management from Appalachian State University. He and his wife, Mindy, moved to Kure Beach in 2014. He serves on the Kure Beach Parks Advisory Board and is the town’s representative on the WMPO Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Committee.

Allen is a retired local government administrator. He worked at the City of Asheboro and the City of High Point, where he served as the parks and recreation director. He also held roles as interim assistant city manager for High Point and interim town manager for the Town of Biscoe. Earlier in his career, he was a center director for Rowan County Parks and served as an athletic director for the Town of Mooresville.

Allen is currently the mayor of Kure Beach. He was elected in 2023 and is serving his first term. He previously served on the Kure Beach Town Council from 2017 to 2023. 

Believes Kure Beach has strong financial stability, with a solid fund balance and relatively low tax rates for residents.
