Raymond previously worked as an assistant district attorney in the Richmond County District Attorney's Office under District Attorneys William L. Murphy and Daniel M. Donovan. He also ran a solo practice in Staten Island for ten years, specializing in civil and criminal litigation.

Raymond serves as an Acting Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York and presides over Kings County, Criminal Term. He was appointed in 2019. He is currently a judge of the New York City Criminal Court.
