Japneet earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting, corporate finance, international business, and economics, and a master’s degree in accounting from Queens College. He is originally from Queens, New York, where he lives today.

Japneet currently works as president of the Khalsa Community Patrol. He previously worked as an assurance associate at RSM US LLP and as a senior associate at Sandrine Capital, LLC. He also held roles with the New York City Council, New York City Human Resources Administration, and the New York City Board of Education.

Japneet Singh previously ran for New York State Senate in 2021, but did not win. His current campaign for New York City Council is his first run for municipal office.
