Ismael has a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in business from the City University of New York. He was born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Bronx. 

Ismael currently works for the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) as an administrative procurement analyst. He's been with the NYC DCAS for 8 years. Previously, he worked in the office of the NYC Comptroller and the New York State Comptroller.
