Jenifer has a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a law degree from Stanford University. She was born and raised in New York. 

Before taking public office, Jenifer served as the director of immigration affairs for New York. She also practiced as a civil rights attorney and taught as a professor at CUNY. 

Jenifer Rajkumar is a state assembly member representing New York's 38th district. She was elected into office in 2021 and is currently serving her third term. She ran for a New York state assembly seat in 2016 and a New York City council seat in 2013 but did not win. She also served as a district leader for New York's 65th State Assembly district from 2011 to 2017.
