Cynthia Scaturico was born in Decatur, Illinois. She graduated from Lincoln Community High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from Robert Morris University in 2007. Shelly Simonds earned a bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and a master’s degree from Stanford University. She lives with her husband, Paul, in the Denbigh area of Newport News and has two daughters attending university.
