“It’s a very unique situation in Grantville,” Forbes said. “The community is very proud of the small town feel. There’s a certain charm that Grantville brings that is admirable.”

But the community is on the verge of growth and so the elected officials need to be able to protect that small town charm, while allowing for the growth that is inevitable, he said.

Some of the issues he’s heard while talking to people are expensive utility bills, infrastructure, clean water and new business, Forbes said.

“We have to look at those kinds of things, making sure that when we do grow, it doesn’t come at the expense of the community to where it’s unaffordable for them,” he said.
