David is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel. He is also an instructor for the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) program at a high school in Savannah and teaches night college courses at Hunter Army Airfield. He previously served as the deputy commander for the Savannah District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
