I've studied in Washington, D.C. and earned degrees from Gallaudet University and Rochester Institute of Technology but when the time came to build a life and open my business,

 I chose Richmond.

Who I am

I'm Stephen Delaney, an American Sign Language interpreter and founder of one of Richmond's premier pet grooming salons.

What I Do

By day, I'm a nationally certified American Sign Language interpreter, helping people communicate in hospitals, clinics, schools, and throughout the community. My work is built on listening, understanding different perspectives, and making sure everyone has a voice at the table.

When I'm not interpreting, I'm probably covered in dog hair. As a professional pet groomer, I've had the privilege of getting to know many of Richmond families through the pets they love. Between interpreting and grooming, I've spent years serving people from all walks of life, and that's the perspective I hope to bring to City Commission.

Cattle Farms Over Server Farms

Richmond doesn't need massive data centers consuming land, power, and resources while creating few local jobs. I support banning large-scale data centers and focusing on development that benefits our community, supports local businesses, protects farmland, and improves quality of life for the people who call Richmond home.

Affordable Housing

Richmond should be a place where working families, seniors, young professionals, and first-time homebuyers can afford to live.

I support responsible growth that expands housing options, protects existing neighborhoods, and ensures our infrastructure keeps pace with development. Growth should create opportunity, not push people out of the community they love.

Housing & Urban Development

Public Safety

Everyone in Richmond deserves equal access to city services, spaces, and opportunities. That means sidewalks and public buildings that work for people with disabilities, city information available in multiple formats, and a local government that listens to every voice. I’ll fight to make sure no one is left out.

Richmond’s economy should work for everyone. By supporting small businesses, attracting employers who provide good jobs, and making our city more business-friendly, we can create opportunities that keep talent and families right here at home and not on the interstate.

Supporting Veterans

We owe our veterans more than a thank you. I support policies and partnerships that help veterans access housing, services, employment opportunities, and community connections. Richmond should be a city that honors service and supports those who served.

Supports making city services, public spaces, and information accessible to people with disabilities.

Supports small businesses, employers that offer good jobs, and policies intended to make Richmond more business-friendly.

Public Services

Richmond's growth must be matched by investments in roads, utilities, sidewalks, stormwater systems, and public facilities. I support responsible planning that keeps our infrastructure strong and prepares our city for the future.
