Jackson Simpkins has been a Navy Hospital Corpsman, an EMT, and is now an ER Physician Assistant who has been a proven leader in both the military and civilian worlds.

Establish Crisis Response Teams: These teams with specialized training in social services and mental health can help diffuse and deescalate dangerous situations our first responders encounter. Not only valuable on the scene, these teams can continue to help with an appropriate plan of care for Kentuckians who would otherwise become stuck in a cycle of emergency rooms and jail.

Protect our most vulnerable online. Washington, DC is so full of tech billionaire money that they refuse to even consider our children’s safety online. We need to pass a bill to regulate AI so that online chatbots and billionaire tech companies have accountability and responsibility. If DC won’t step up then we will. We can help protect our kids from being endangered online. Our children’s safety is not for sale to tech billionaires.

Increase Autonomy for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants: Kentucky lags behind every other state when it comes to the scope of what a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is allowed to do. We need to pass legislation that will empower them and give them more flexibility with patients. We also need to incentivize Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to start small, localized family practices (especially in under-served communities) by providing specialty tax credits.

1. Fix the Medicaid Reimbursement Gap: This will result in fewer people being dropped by their Primary Care Physicians and more physicians will be able to afford to see Medicaid patients.
 2. More Family First Training to Teach People How to Use Medicaid: Much like what we do for student loans, if we can teach people what type of medical events constitute an ER visit vs a Urgent Care or Primary Care visit, then not only can we provide better care overall, but provide less financial burden to the state.

- Your state representative can author, sponsor, and vote on bills that may become state laws. 
- There are 100 members of the Kentucky House of Representatives, each representing a single district. Representatives must be at least 24 years old and reside in the state for at least two years before their election.
