Kathy Witt is a  central kentucky native she is married and has two children.

Kathy is the Sheriff of Fayette County. She works at the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, where she has served her entire career. She previously worked as a field deputy, a detective, a lieutenant and as chief deputy within the same office.

Kathy has spent 39 years serving Lexington’s criminal justice community. She began her career in corrections at the local detention center and progressively advanced through the ranks, eventually serving in every division and at every rank within the Office of the Fayette County Sheriff.
