What the record shows

Perry Johnson for President paid Shane Dedrick $2,237.50 in April 2023 for "field operations consulting" and "consulting."
Dedrick also gave the same campaign $6 through the Republican donation platform WinRed in March 2023.
He is the only one of the Green Party of Michigan's 2026 nominees whose itemized federal contributions went to a Republican.
He has no federal campaign committee, no reported fundraising, and no campaign website.

The donation came first

The small donations came first. On March 7, 2023, Dedrick gave $1 and then $5 to Perry Johnson for President through WinRed, the platform Republican campaigns use to process contributions. His listed occupation was "mover." Those contributions were first reported by The Bulwark and then by 6 News, which framed them as a curiosity: a man no one in the Green Party had met, with a donation to a Republican in his past.

Shane Dedrick has listed his occupation as a mover. He has also been paid by Perry Johnson for President for consulting and field operations work.
