Professional background

Eric is a senior lawyer at the U.S. Department of Commerce. He works there implementing the CHIPS and Science Act to bring manufacturing jobs back to Michigan. He previously worked as a 4th-grade civics teacher at a public elementary school, as an attorney in the Civil Rights Division at the U.S. Department of Justice, and as a legal advisor to the Senate Judiciary Committee on the confirmation of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
