Lynne Walz grew up on a small farm outside Fremont, Nebraska. She has a degree in education from Midland Lutheran College. She directs Vacation Bible School during the summer and serves on the church council at Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle.

Lynne previously worked at a non-profit supporting people with developmental disabilities and as a teacher for 4th and 5th graders at Fremont Public Schools and at Archbishop Bergan Catholic School. She also worked as a caretaker for three developmentally disabled women, at the Hinky Dinky deli, at a 3M plant, and at a corn seed factory.

Lynne previously served as a member of the Nebraska legislature in 2016 and 2020.
