Will started out as a unionized worker, where he saw how badly systems can fail the people they are built to serve. Instead of accepting it, he took action, filing federal complaints with the National Labor Relations Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

He later joined the Manhattan Institute, digging into the issues that hit New Yorkers hardest: education, labor, and government accountability. He has become a leading voice against antisemitism and has testified before Congress on it.

2026 New York General Election

THE TOP PRIORITY

Long Island families are being crushed by rising costs, high taxes, and Albany spending with no accountability. For too long, Albany has bailed out New York City on Long Island's dime while our homeowners get priced out and our communities get nothing in return.

Will Sussman will fight to end the blank checks to New York City unless they come tied to real tax relief for Long Islanders, reduce the tax burden, rein in wasteful government spending, and protect homeowners from being priced out of the neighborhoods they built.

TRANSPARENCY

New Yorkers deserve a government that is honest, open, and accountable to the people it serves. Will supports rigorous oversight of state programs to restore public trust and make sure taxpayer money is spent responsibly. Every dollar lost to mismanagement or fraud is a dollar that never reaches the communities that need it.

Economy

OPEN SPACE

Long Island has to grow responsibly, protecting our coastline, investing in clean water infrastructure, and backing development that keeps our suburban character intact. That is why Will supports transferring the Setauket to Port Jefferson Station Greenway to Suffolk County Parks, where it belongs, instead of handing it to the state DOT. His opponent wrote the bill to do exactly that.

PUBLIC SAFETY

Every family deserves to feel safe at home, at school, and on their own block. Albany's reckless cashless bail law put dangerous criminals back on the street, tied judges' hands, and made shoplifting so routine that everyday items sit locked behind glass. Will will fight to repeal cashless bail, hire more police officers, and make sure repeat and violent offenders are removed from our communities.

# Save the Setauket–Port Jefferson Station Greenway

### New York State should transfer ownership of the Greenway to Suffolk County.

Will Sussman

Save the Setauket–Port Jefferson Station Greenway

That’s why Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine (R)—a longtime advocate of preserving green spaces—has proposed a simple, commonsense solution: transfer ownership of the Greenway from the state to the county. Let Suffolk manage it as parkland. Electrify the Port Jefferson train line, but don’t condition much-needed rail improvements on destroying a community treasure.

He added that electrifying the Port Jefferson Branch of the Long Island Rail Road will be a focus if he is elected: a goal that he said his technical background could help him achieve.

New York should be the next state to recognize Patriots’ Day. That’s what I’ll pursue if elected to the State Assembly.
My district already celebrates a version of the holiday. Since 2015, the Three Village Historical Society has hosted Culper Spy Day, drawing history enthusiasts from across New York to the hamlet of Setauket on Long Island.
