I am a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County. I attended Henderson County Public Schools K-12. I am a Christian mom of two children that attend Henderson County Public Schools. I have my Bachelor's Degree in nursing and have served as a nurse in Henderson County for nine years. I have served on many committees and often serve in leadership roles. My roots run deep here in Henderson County. I am very invested in this community and passionate about preserving it, especially in the education community. Mr. Blair Craven moved that the Henderson County Board of Public Education approve the 2026 – 2027 Traditional/HCEC Calendar for second reading. Mrs. Stephanie Cantwell seconded the motion. I am running for the School Board because I want to play a proactive role in seeing positive things happen in our school systems. Like advocating for the parental role, (I want) to ensure parents have a voice and can play a very active role in their children's education. I am for a quality educational curriculum that will prepare our students for the future, free of any divisive teachings or hidden agendas that could be very harmful to students. I am for school safety on every level, including protecting the role of School Resource Officers. I am for transparency and communication between the School Board, parents and educational staff so that we can build a positive relationship and work together to best serve the students.

It is vital that the Board and the Superintendent work together as a team. Dr. Garrett seems to have the best interest of our students as his top priority. I am especially excited to support his plans to expose high schoolers to local businesses, in hopes of sparking their interest in various industries and possibly leading to internships, or even careers. This is exactly the type of practical thinking that local education needs. Having a shared vision and collaboration between the Board and Superintendent can make a positive impact on students that can inspire them while in school, and then carry them through their entire working life.
