I love this thriving community, and I am committed to advocating for student’s needs, working to make sure teachers are respected & supported, and encouraging parent engagement.

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I see the impact of our education system on students in higher education each day, and I have insight into supports that can ensure students are equipped with resilience and strength both now and in the future.

If elected to the Pitt County Board of Education, I will focus on recruiting and retaining high quality, highly qualified teachers. I will recognize that the physical environment contributes to the success of staff and students, and will advocate for resources that allow our facilities teams to live out their desire to make sure that we have the best working situation available. I will keep the lines of communication open, allowing for learning conversations to occur between all parties, and using those learning opportunities to guide policy and relay decisions.
