Mayor Nancy Walker was appointed Mayor in 2025 by the Spindale Town Council upon the passing of Mayor Mickey Bland. A lifelong Spindale resident and retired teacher's assistant at Spindale Elementary School, Mayor Walker is no stranger to public service. Before her Mayoral appointment, she had previously served on the Spindale Board of Commissioners as both Commissioner and Mayor Pro-Tem.

Mayor Walker - Mayor Walker thanked Town staff across departments for their hard work during recent heavy rains, noting efforts by John and the wastewater and sewer teams to address runoffs and related issues. She recognized the prompt response to the significant water intrusion at Spindale House, thanking Eddie and Drew, as well as Jon and the Fire Department for bringing fans and helping stabilize the situation. She praised the successful Camptime basketball event and the condition of the gym. Mayor Walker expressed pride in all departments and requested that a trash can be placed by the bench in front of Deb’s Mini Mart on Maryland Street, preferably one of the decorative styles used on the trail, if available. Mayor Walker also requested that Code Enforcement investigate the house near Johnson Street and Setzer Street. The house sustained major damage during a police standoff and needs to be demolished.
