She is a parent of two Erwin High School graduates and a grandmother to two. Her family remains deeply involved in the district; her daughter-in-law works at North Buncombe, and her son coaches baseball.

Professional background

Plemmons’ professional career includes a long tenure in the financial sector, having retired as a Senior Vice President from Wells Fargo in 2018. Following her retirement, she transitioned back into education as a substitute teacher to maintain a direct connection with the classroom environment. Her professional experience is complemented by her service on several community boards, including the Buncombe County Schools Foundation and the Mountain Child Advocacy Center.
