Chris Wood is originally from Stokes County, North Carolina. He attended Western Carolina University and NC State University. He lives in the Tarheel community just outside of Murphy, North Carolina and he is married and has four children.

Chris currently works in the lawn care business. He previously worked at the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, where he served as professional standards deputy, operations commander, chief deputy, and later captain of detention. He also previously worked for the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
