Before returning to her hometown of Houston, Texas, Katie served as a Deputy District Attorney (2009 – 2017) gaining extensive trial experience, advocating for the state and giving a voice to victims. In private practice Katie has served 100s of individual clients across five counties in Houston and the surrounding area.

She currently serves as a Senior Litigator in the Mental Health Division of the Harris County Public Defender’s Office, where she stands up for the rights of individuals suffering from mental illness and ensures their equal treatment under the law.
