Rose Sosa is from San Antonio, Texas. She has a law degree from St. Mary’s University. She is married to her husband, Alan, and they have two children together.

Rose is a defense attorney and prosecutor with 24 years of experience in criminal and juvenile justice. She has worked at the Bexar County District Attorney's Office for 22 years. Rose is board-certified in juvenile law and criminal law, making her one of only 15 attorneys in Texas who is dual certified. She also serves as a magistrate judge for Bexar County. Rose is part of the founding team for Crossroads Girls Mental Health Court, which received the 2016 National Criminal Justice Association Outstanding Criminal Justice Program award for the western region. She is also a founding member of the recognized Capstone Project team, which received the 2019 Georgetown University Capstone Award for expanding career and technical education options for youth. Rose has helped establish Restore Court, MIND Court, and STRIVE Court, and she is an active advocate for children's programs and services.

Rose is currently a judge on the 289th Juvenile District Court. She was elected in 2022 and is currently serving her first term.
