Keith Coleman earned a degree from Norfolk State University and a master's degree in education from Concordia University. He also attended the Army Logistics University and Thomas M. Cooley Law School and completed certifications in collegiate athletic resource management from Oklahoma City University and technology development from California State University. 

Keith previously served in the United States Marine Corps as a Major. He also worked in compliance at United Airlines, as a paralegal for General Colin Powell's legal team, as a transportation commander and team embarkation officer in the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and in educational program development. 

Keith's campaign for Texas House of Representative in Congressional District 8 is his first run for public office.
