In general, judge or not, being a good person will bring you success. Treat people with respect because they deserve it and so do you.

People deserve to be heard, have the judges undivided attention, and be treated with respect.

As a child, family members dealt with issues in court and were dealt the short end of the stick. Wanted to become a lawyer and judge to help others in the same situation.

Calls for more comprehensive pre-sentencing investigations, to understand the individual better

Make sure that mental health or substance abuse referrals can be made and judges can draw on this info when making a sentencing

If someone has been on probation 3 times already then they might not be qualified for an assistance program

A diverse judiciary allows for having individuals with have differing life perspectives to draw from them when considering a case, and allows those in the courtroom to feel seen and heard

Even if the judge does not rule in their favor, at least they know that the judge heard where they were coming from, and sometimes that is what matters the most
