Etrinda was born and raised in Chatham County, Georgia. She moved to Atlanta in 1995. She has a bachelor's degree in sociology with a minor in psychology from Georgia State University. She was president of the Springside Condo Association, president of the Tara Road Homeowner Association and president fo the Carriage Park Association. She has two daughters.

Etrinda is a consultant for a local nonprofit and has The Castle Group Consultants, which helps homeowners keep their homes during financial struggles. She previously retired after working in logistics for Delta Airlines for 13 years.

Etrinda Castle's campaign for city council is her first entry into politics.
