Marc was born in Savannah. He graduated from Georgia Cumberland Academy in Calhoun. He then earned his bachelor's degree in political science with a history minor from Savannah State University (SSU). Marc is an associate pastor for Faith Missionary Baptist Church. he has a daughter who is currently university-age.

Marc previously worked for the Savannah-Chatham Public School System (SCCPSS) at Riley Learning Center School for designated felons. He also worked for the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department. Marc served in the United States Navy.
