Fred has lived in Ballard for 30 years. He has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in fisheries biology from the University of Washington. He lives with his wife, Amy, and he has a son.

Fred is an environmental consultant. He founded WAVE Consulting to prevent oil spills and other environmental disaster from taking place in Washington.

Fred Felleman is currently a Port of Seattle Commissioner. He was first elected in 2015 and has been in office for two terms. He used to be the president of the Seattle Port Commission.
