Kim is currently the lead pastor at the Episcopal Church of the Common Ground in downtown Atlanta.

Kim is an Episcopal priest who has served as a college chaplain, consultant, preacher, and parish priest. She has also worked as the Interim Vicar at the Episcopal Church of the Common Ground, engaging with the unhoused community in downtown Atlanta. Kim Jackson was officially sworn into the Georgia Senate on January 11, 2021, to represent Senate District 41, marking her tenure as Georgia’s first LGBTQ State Senator.
