Patti previously ran her own consulting company named Patricia Hewitt Consulting. She also worked with the Mercator Advisory Group as the Director of Debit Advisory Services, and later Vice President and Managing Director for Consulting Services. She's the founder of KEENonPayments, and is currently the owner of Paymentgal (PG) Research & Advisory Services.

Patti Hewitt was previously elected as a committee delegate for the Democratic Party of Georgia State, and is the chair of the Bryan County Democratic Committee. She was also appointed to the Liberty County Board of Tax Assessors.
