Robert graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He has a law degree from Georgia State University’s College of Law. He is married to Erika Jordan Busbee. They have two children, ages 5 and 1.

Robert worked for the corporate firm McCalla Raymer LLC during Law School. He started Busbee Law Group, LLC, a criminal defense law firm, in 2014. He is a member of GACDL, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Daphne was born and raised in Tattnall County and has called Bulloch County her home for the last 20 years. She is a member of the Bulloch County Bar Association and was President in 2004 and 2011. She is also a 2006 graduate of Leadership Bulloch, a 2010 graduate of the Young Lawyers Leadership Academy for the State Bar of Georgia, a 2012 graduate of Leadership Southeast Georgia and a 2018 graduate of the Lynda B. Williamson Leadership Academy. Daphne was a recipient of the Statesboro Herald’s “40 under 40” in 2011 and received a Deen Day Smith Service to Mankind Award in 2013.

Before being elected District Attorney, Daphne worked as the Assistant District Attorney. Prior to working for the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit, Daphne worked as a Guest Lecturer.

Daphne Jarriel Totten is the current District Attorney in Ogeechee Judicial Circuit. She began her position in 2020, and is the first woman to hold the position.  

Received her B.A. in Political Science and English from the University of Georgia in 1998. She received her Juris Doctorate from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 2002.

Worked for the Ogeechee Circuit District Attorney's Office since 2003. She prosecutes all types of felony cases but spends the majority of my time prosecuting serious violent felonies including Murder, Child Molestation & Other Crimes Against Children, Sexual Assault, Aggravated Assault/Aggravated Battery, Armed Robberies, and Burglary/Home Invasion cases.

Our office will continue to have a positive, collaborative relationship with the law enforcement agencies in our circuit to ensure that violent criminals are aggressively prosecuted to the fullest extent. Additionally, I will continue the work our office has done over the years in helping grow our Circuit’s Accountability Courts, which include a Drug Court and Mental Health Court. Those courts assist those struggling with drug and mental health problems in a way that holds them accountable for their actions, but also avoids lengthy jail stays and saves the community money. I will strive to have an office that is both effective and efficient.”

- A District Attorney is the person who represents the government in the prosecution of all felony criminal cases and the misdemeanors connected to felonies. 
- They review police arrest reports, build cases against arrested individuals, and ultimately are responsible for prosecuting and making the case against these individuals. 
- They also have the discretion of whether or not to bring charges against arrested people, whether or not to seek jail time, or whether or not to send individuals to pre-trial diversion programs. District Attorneys handle the most critical cases in their district, including internal investigations of law enforcement officers.
- District Attorneys do not work alone. They also supervise other attorneys, called Deputy District Attorneys or Assistant District Attorneys.
- There are 49 District Attorneys In Georgia, each representing the judicial circuit in which they get elected. Since 1968, the office has been a full-time elected position whose incumbent could not engage in the private practice of law. District Attorneys are part of the judicial branch of the Georgia state government.
