Jody Cleven

David is originally from Greenville, SC. He attended Northwood High School and earned his bachelor's degree in elementary education and reading from East Carolina University, followed by a master's degree in the same field from East Carolina University and a degree in administration from UNC Chapel Hill. He lives with his wife, Ellen, in Pittsboro.

David is a member of the North Carolina School Board Trust. Previously, he worked as a principal at Bonlee Elementary School and Pittsboro Elementary School. He was also a first grade teacher at Pittsboro Elementary School.

David M. Hamm currently serves on the Chatham County Board of Education. He was first elected in 2008 and is serving his fourth term.
