Sadek Rahman earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech University, an MBA in finance from Wayne State University, and an executive certificate from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He has served on the City of Troy’s Historic District Commission, Planning Commission, and Zoning Board of Appeals. He also holds leadership roles in the American Association of Bangladeshi Engineers and Architects. He lives in Troy with his wife and two sons.

Sadek is a mechanical engineer and manager at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. He previously lectured at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology for three years.

Sadek's run for City Council in Troy is his first campaign for public office.
