Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Houston. He lives with his wife in Houston and they have two daughters who are graduates of the Houston Independent School District.

Michael has served as principal at Pin Oak Middle School, Westside High School, and Bellaire High School. He began his career in the district as a math teacher and soccer coach. 

Michael McDonough's campaign for Houston ISD Trustee, District 6 is his first entry into politics.
