- The council uses taxpayer money to create a budget that creates opportunities for the children, families, and the community it works with, including administrative costs, family learning, and early childhood learning.
- The council provides initiatives to meet the needs of students, including instructional coaching, providing preparation for kindergarten, and extended learning during the summer.
- The council requires at least two members to meet with the state’s advisory committee and learning community administrators multiple times a year to discuss various topics, including their community achievement plan, programs, and best practices for improving achievement among all students, including those with achievement obstacles.
