Davara Ponds has a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, and Emergency Management from Strayer University, master's degree in Public Administration from Strayer University, law degree from Northcentral University, and a certification in Law Enforcement and Security from Stanly Community College.

Davara currently works as owner and chief of operations at DC. Protective Service Security & Patrol LLC, a licensed security company, and as a certified instructor for unarmed security guards, basic law enforcement training, and detention procedures. He previously worked as a deputy sheriff and detention officer with Stanly County Sheriff Office, school bus driver for Stanly County School System, loss control manager at K-Mart, security officer at East Coast Securities, supervisor at TSA Enforcement, supervisor at Hoosier Security Services, correction officer with the North Carolina Department of Corrections, deputy sheriff with Rowan County Sheriff Department, juvenile counselor at Stonewall Jackson Training School, and section supervisor at Wiscassett Mills.

Davara previously ran for Stanly County Sheriff in 2022 but did not win.
