Tim Watkins describes himself as a "Servant Leader" and emphasizes a deep respect for the people of Morven and Anson County. He believes the strength of the community lies in the unique ideas and dedication of its citizens.

Watkins is a 30-year veteran of the Anson County Sheriff’s Office, where he rose through the ranks to serve as Major. In this high-level capacity, he was responsible for leading a major division and managing day-to-day operations within the department. As the current Mayor of Morven, he provides executive oversight for all "Town Hall" operations. His leadership is currently focused on economic revitalization, specifically spearheading projects to restore the town’s downtown area to foster a better environment for families and local businesses. His career-long commitment to public service earned him The Order of the Long Leaf Pine in 2023, the highest honor bestowed by the State of North Carolina for exemplary service. Watkins operates as a "Servant Leader," a philosophy he cultivated during his 30 years in the field and continues to apply to his mayoral duties.
