Kardal Coleman is originally from Dallas. He studied Communication and Media Studies at Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a licensed minister and co-founder of The Liberation Fund, a nonpartisan civil and human rights nonprofit.

Kardal currently works as a senior advisor for the Texas House of Representatives.
