Brian earned a bachelor's degree in geological engineering and a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Arizona. His volunteer work includes creating the Citizens Water Academy and Scottsdale Water Assistance Fund.

Brian is retired. He previously worked as director of the Scottsdale Water Department and as acting city manager of Scottsdale. He also worked as an environmental engineer and president of WateReuse. Brian previously served as an officer in the US Army for 8 years and in the US Army reserves for 14 years.

Brian Biesemeyer has over 30 years of experience in Arizona's water industry, working across both private and municipal water systems. He is a registered professional environmental engineer and holds the highest operator certifications awarded by the State of Arizona in water treatment, water distribution, wastewater treatment, and wastewater collections.
