Jason was born and raised in Georgia. He has a bachelor's degree in finance and marketing and a master's degree in marketing from Georgia State University. He volunteers as a coach for the Warren Boys & Girls Club and joined the Grant Park Conservancy Board in 2015. He lives with his wife, Shalya, and baby, Banks Harlow, in Grant Park.

Jason owns a marketing consulting business, Winston Media Group. He was also an instructor at Georgia State University, teaching social media marketing to undergraduate business students.
