Kelly-Jeanne has a degree in English. Before she worked as an educator, she "worked some non-profit and freelance jobs, was a Camp Director for a Girl Scout Camp, and helped run an after school program for at-risk youth."  She currently sits on the executive board for Lakewood Heights and is a member of her local neighborhood planning unit. She lives with her wife and baby in Lakewood Heights.

Kelly-Jeanne has worked as a teacher for nearly ten years. She began her career in education through the Teach for America program.
